Package Itinerary
Day 01 - Delhi – Agra
On arrival at “Safdarjung Railway Station, Delhi” you will received with a grand traditional welcome by our tour manager and the crew of Maharajas' Express train. Freshen up, relax for a couple hours and get ready to proceed to Agra; en route, you will enjoy scrumptious on-board brunch in the Maharaja dining - restaurants named “Mayur Mahal” and “Rang Mahal”.
Spend your night in the comforts of the palatial train and open your eyes to the alluring city of Jaipur on the Maharajas' Express.
Day 02 - Jaipur
After arriving at Jaipur also known as the “Pink City”, visit the famous Observatory named Jantar Mantar that has the world's largest sun dial or avail the services of a Spa at a 5 star hotel to feel rejuvenated. You can also visit the Amber Fort or go for shopping or get indulged into golfing at Rambagh Golf Club.
Later, proceed towards the City Palace or Jai Mahal Palace to enjoy the impressive elephant activities. You will get ample scope to spend time with these lovely creatures, painting them or feeding them can be included as per your wish, or you can simply go for the royal ride and then have a royal dinner. Return to the lavish Maharajas' Express. Open your eyes to the mesmerizing land of Bikaner, which will be your next destination. Later admiring the art and culture of the Rajput era/fun-filled activities, come evening and taste your buds with luscious on-board dinner and prepare yourself to move for the next destination “Sawai Madhopur” which is home to the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site “Ranthambore National Park”.
Day 03 - Ranthambore - Fatehpur Sikri
The Maharajas' Express will reach Sawai Madhopur on the third day. Then you will go for an adventurous drive at Ranthambore National Park, where you will spot the majestic tiger amidst the greenery, after that back to your luxury train to have a hearty breakfast in the princely ambience on-board. After wilderness, it’s time to hit your journey towards “Fatehpur Sikri”, which was once the capital of Mughal Emperor Akbar, upon reaching Fatehpur Sikri, explore the deserted city and later return to the Maharajas' Express for refreshing with on-board dinner and moving toward another fascinating city of “The Indian Panorama Tour”, “Agra”.
Day 04 - Agra – Gwalior
Today you will arrive in the city of marvelous architecture, glorious history and vivid flavors named Agra. The ultimate luxury tour of Rajasthan and Agra begins with a visit to Taj Mahal; get mesmerized with the beauty of an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the south bank of the Yamuna River. You will then have a Champagne breakfast on the roof of Taj Khema. Later return to the Maharajas' Express and start your journey towards the true royal city “Gwalior”. Upon reaching “Gwalior”, have on-board lunch and embrace yourself with an exciting tour of this noble city. Here first you will visit one of the strongest forts in the country, also known as India’s ‘Gibraltar’,“Gwalior Fort”. Following this visit, you will be taken to “Saas Bahu Temple” and “Jain Cave Sculptures” or if you are not in the mood of exploring forts, palaces and temples you can also choose avail spa facilities at Usha Kiran Palace Hotel.
After a heartfelt visit to the Gwalior Fort, visit the “Jai Vilas Palace Museum” and energize yourself with a warm cup of “High tea” in the compound of the palace.
Later return back to the Maharajas' Express; enjoy on-board dinner in comfort and luxury as the train is stationed overnight in Gwalior only.
Day 05 - Orcha – Khajuraho
Fifth day of “The Indian Panorama Tour” will take you in the exotic lands of “Khajuraho”. Start your day with a scrumptious on-board breakfast and go to explore the amazing “Khajuraho temples” (Western Group of Temples); the highlights of these shrines are the carvings on their inner and outer walls. Depicting tales of love and passion, some of these temples have been declared as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. After discovering the essence of art and passion of the ancient world, it’s time to get back to the comforts of Maharajas' Express followed by on-board lunch or either you can choose optional activities like: Spa facilities at 5 star hotel, sound and light show, golfing at Rambagh Golf Club, dances of India show. Have an on-board dinner and ready to leave for “Varanasi”.
Day 06 - Varanasi
Begin your sixth day early in the morning in the land of Lord Shiva, “Varanasi” following tasty on-board breakfast; post this, visit “Silk Weaving Center” which is followed by sumptuous lunch at Taj Gateway Hotel. After lunch, visit the historic sites of the buried Buddhist city “Sarnath” where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. Visit the “Ruins”, “Stupa”, “Buddhist Temple and Museum”. Afterwards in evening, get ready to enjoy a “Boat Ride” at the holy river Ganges to witness “Evening Prayer”. Now it’s time to call it a day by retiring at the comforts of the Maharajas' Express, have dinner on-board and leave for the city of royal splendour and relishing delicacies, “Lucknow”.
Day 07 - Lucknow
After breakfast get ready to check out main attractions in Lucknow which include: “Bara Imambara”, “Chota Imambara”, “Rumi Darwaza”and “The Residency” which is followed by delicious “Awadhi lunch” along with the “live Kathak dance performance” at Vivanta by Taj. Post lunch, return to the comforts of Maharajas' Express and enjoy an “Indian Evening” followed by on-board dinner at Maharajas' Express train only. As today, at the end of the day you will be move back for Delhi.
Day 08 - Delhi
After enjoying your breakfast on-board, you will find yourself at the “Safdarjung Railway Station, Delhi”. With this you will have to bid goodbye to the Maharajas' Express, the pride of Indian luxury tourism!
