Day 1 - Arrive in Lhasa (3650m / 11,976ft.)

Day 2 - Lhasa Full Day Sightseeing

Proceed  for full day sightseeing tour of Lhasa. Visit Jokhang Temple: Situated in the heart of old Lhasa, it houses Tibet’s most precious religious relic, a golden Shakyamuni Buddha which was brought as a gift by the Chinese Princess Wen Cheng on the occasion of her wedding to the Tibetan King, Songtsen Gompo. Surrounding the Jokhang Temple is the bustling Barkhor market place, which is the religious and social focus of Lhasa. Stroll around the bustling bazaar. This is the spiritual centre of Tibet, and is also the heart of Lhasa. Afternoon visit the Sera Monastery, 5 km to the north of Lhasa, Sera’s setting is one of the prettiest. Once a community of more than 5000 monks, it was virtually extinguished by the Chinese invasion. The restored monastery sits below the brow of the hill on which Tsongkhapa built a hermitage and spent several years in meditation. One of the monk's disciples started building the Sera in 1419 AD.

Day 3 - Lhasa - Full day sightseeing

Meet your guide in the hotel lobby and proceed for full day sightseeing tour of Lhasa. Potala Palace: This Legendary palace built by the first King Songten Gompo is situated atop a single hill and is synonymous with Tibet. Visit to The Norbulingkha: The ‘Jewel Park’ as it is known in Tibetan, was built in the 18th century and served as the Summer Palace of the Dalai Lamas. This colorful garden landscape was the site of picnic and public gatherings. The place is richly decorated, creating an atmosphere of peaceful repose.

Day 4 - Lhasa – Shigatse (via Yamdrok tso & Gyantse) (3900m / 12,796)

After breakfast check out, and drive to Gyantse. Take a look at Yamdrok Lake on the way. Today, we will drive from Lhasa to Gyantse. On the way, pass over the Gampala pass (4790 m), have a glimpse of Yamdrok-tso (4400m). The Lake is surrounded by many snow-capped mountains and in the distance you have spectacular view of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar, (7191m) the highest mountain near Lhasa. We head westward along the lake and drive towards Gyantse. Gyantse was historically Tibet's third largest city (after Lhasa and Shigatse). In Gyantse, we make a visit to Palkhor Tschode Monastery. The monastery was built in the 15th century and is situated in the west of Gyantse. After one and a half hours driving, we arrive in Shigatse, which is the second largest city in Tibet.

Day 6 - Sightseeing of Shigatse & afternoon train from Shigatse to Lhasa

Meet your guide in the hotel lobby and proceed for half day sighseeing tour of Shigatse. You will visit the Tashilumpo Monastery, which is the main attraction of Shigatse. It is one of 6 most famous monasteries in Tibetan Buddhism and it is the residence of Panchen Lama. There you can enjoy the highest bronze statue of Buddha, called future Buddha. After lunch, check out from hotel and tranfer to Shigatse train station to board the train for Lhasa. Arrive Lhasa station and tranfer to hotel.

Day 6 - Fly Lhasa to Kathmandu

Check out of hotel and transfer to airport to board your flight to Kathmandu. On arrival at Kathmandu International Airport meet with our tour representative, then transfer to the hotel.  Rest of the day free.

Day 7 - Full Day Sightseeing of Kathmandu

After breakfast proceed for Kathmandu sightseeing covering Pashupatinath Temple, Bouddhanath Stupa and Bhaktapur  .

Pashupatinath: The temple of Pashupatinath located on the western banks of the Bagmati River on the north eastern side of Kathmandu, is one of the most important Hindu pilgrimage site in the world. Pashupatinath is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Bouddhanath: With a base of 82 meters in diameter, Bouddhanath is claimed to be the largest Buddhist stupa in the world. Today there are more than 50 monasteries surrounding Bouddhanath which is also one of the seven Monument Zones which make up the Kathmandu valley a World Heritage Site.  Bhaktapur: One of the three main cities in the valley, Bhaktapur is located east of Kathmandu and is in reality a medieval city. It houses some of the best examples of Nepali craftsmanship on wood and stone such as the Palace of 55 Windows built in 1697, the five storied Nyatapola Temple, the Kashi Biswanath Temple, the Dattatreya Temple among many others.

Day 8 - Full Day Sightseeing Tour of Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa & Patan Durbar Square

After breakfast at hotel, proceed for sightseeing tour covering Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swyambhunath Stupa and Patan Durbar Square. Here you will visit the temple of the Living Goddess, who acknowledges the greetings of the devotees from the balcony of her temple residence. Swayambhunath: Perched on a hilltop on the southwestern part of Kathmandu, Swayambhunath is one of the most important religious and cultural sites in Nepal and is associated with the birth of the Kathmandu valley civilization. Patan or Yala: Patan as it is known today is located on the southern banks of the Bagmati River and is one of the three main cities in Kathmandu Valley. The city is believed to be the first settlement in the valley and was established by the Kirat dynasty who ruled for more than 1200 years from the 3rd century BC.  Patan is famous for its amazing collection of fantastically carved temples, palace courtyards, water spouts, public baths and houses with their equally elaborate wood, stone and metal carvings under the patronages of the Kirat, Lichivi and Malla kings. Patan Durbar square is one of the seven Monument Zones that make up the Kathmandu valley a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 9 - Departure from Kathmandu

Check out & transfer to International airport to connect your flight back home.
